2018 - 2025, Boston
From 2018 through 2025, I worked as the President of America’s first trade school, North Bennet Street School. Together with the remarkable faculty, staff, and students, and with the support of the Board of Directors, Advisors, and community of alumni, the School thrived through challenge during my tenure. I led this in-person hands-on school through the Covid-19 pandemic and post-pandemic, then through massive changes in how - and where - we work, while still producing an ambitious strategic plan centered on values of diversity, inclusion and access. All the while, we expanded programs, built student enrollment, increased student support and financial aid, brought salary transparency and increases to the faculty, and achieved record fundraising for the School. It was a thrilling and rewarding effort in strategic vision, collaboration, instinct, opportunity and hard work.
No act of big worthwhile leadership happens alone, and as President, the progress one can claim is always in partnership. There are so many things from this chapter I am proud of and have had lasting effect, For a view into this work, the School’s progress, our students and our many achievements, the annual reports below are summaries and stories of my tenure.
