Coaching
Tapping into our innate strengths and aligning them with our goals, challenges and opportunities is lifelong work - and it’s hard. I love to partner with people to do this - because I believe the world needs our best and truest talents to come forward.
It’s how we build better institutions, businesses, educations, creative practices, cultural life and communities. Good work and great leadership matter for all of us - and I love supporting the courageous people who do this.
Influenced by my own leadership-work, teaching and creative practice, I work as a Coach - supporting people in all stages of their careers. My training is in leadership coaching, and I believe that self-direction, initiative and growth toward goals - be those personal or professional - is powerful and meaningful leadership.

In practical terms, I work one-on-one with people for about an hour at a time over a series of sessions - on zoom, on the phone and when possible, in person. Every conversation is as different and dynamic as we are. Our sessions focus on the topics, goals and outcomes that clients bring forward, with my support and guidance.
I offer coaching packages of 6 or 12 sessions that clients can schedule at any pace. This gives the benefits of sustained progress, yet also allows people to use coaching sessions as they need them. Some clients prefer a burst of sessions around a focus-topic, then a slower pace; other clients benefit from a more regular cadence. Coaching packages are generally on timelines of 3 or 6 months.

Some clients want coaching when they are ready for a change: preparing themselves for a new role, or promotion, or applying for a new opportunity. Some people want to shift the balance of their work, re-think a business or change the relationship with their team.
For others, our focus might be on values-based challenges: what leadership looks like when trying to build an equitable consensus-based organization? Or how do I hold a role as a respected community leader while making space for my individualism, diversity, and fullness of self. The work is as varied, dynamic and inspiring as the clients - and success looks different for everyone.
-
My clients range from early career educators, artists and organizers, through to experienced creative producers and senior leaders. Together, we dedicate focused time to refining their goals and vision, tapping into their unique abilities to face challenges, navigate change and move toward the many rewards of meaningful work.

Like my clients, I bring all of my truest skills and experience to my coaching and I remain agile to what the client needs. I listen carefully, ask good questions, and help you dig deeply into the areas you want to develop, change or hold on to. I draw on my background as a trade-school President, an art-school Dean, a Faculty member, and a Studio Artist. These roles give me particular expertise in non-profit, creative, and higher-education contexts - but supporting courageous, ethical, ambitious leaders and doers is needed in all industries. Some of my career highlights are also shared on this site.

As you consider coaching, we’ll schedule a (free) 30 minute session to meet each other so I can hear about your interests and share my approach. And we’ll go over pricing. Some clients have coaching paid for by their employer, some pay themselves. I keep my rates keyed to the market, but low enough to keep it accessible.
Independent Professionals paying personally
$450 for a 6 session package (3 months)
$900 for a 12 session package (6 months)Clients with support from their employer (scale reflects non-profit to corporate)
$1350 - $1650 for a 6 session package (3 months)
$2700 - $3300 for a 12 session package (6 months)
Pacing and timeline for the packages can be flexible, though coaching works best with some momentum. We’ll set that expectation together.*Remaining unused sessions can be scheduled within the month following the end of our agreed upon timeline, but after that they ‘expire’. These un-used sessions are then offered to coaching clients with fewer financial resources.
